About Poppy:

Sadly, sweet little Poppy has found herself back in our care after 4 very loving years in a home.

Poppy was originally with us at Oakwood in August 2020 and was lucky enough to be adopted within just a couple of weeks.

She is a very sweet but very nervous girl and understandably, she's extremely confused as to why she is back with us.

Her adopter told us that once she trusts you, she loves nothing more than climbing up on the sofa and having snuggles with you. She's still a very nervous girl and is unable to walk on a collar and lead outside but was happy to be led around in their back garden.

Poppy was an only dog to start with, but once settled, a second dog was introduced - a lively, confident, female labrador. Poppy was said to become a brand new dog, less nervous, super playful and much happier.

It was with a very heavy heart, and all other options exhausted, that Poppy is back in our care. She has never been settled in kennels and so we can only hope that she finds a new home as quickly as possible.

With other dogs:

Poppy loves all dogs, male / female, large / small. Poppy musy be rehomed with another dog.

Low energy levels

Poppy has shown to have low energy levels. She loves snuggling up in her comfy beds and having fusses from her people and she is happy

4-5 max

We believe that Poppy would be ok being left alone for 4-5 max once she has settled into her new home

Requires lead training

Poppy is not yet able to walk on a collar and lead. She will happyily be lead around the garden but has proven to be too scared to go walking into the outside world
