Introducing.. Pepper!!

Pepper's Story:

Pepper is another gentle soul that was rescued from the horrors of the Romanian kill shelter. Sadly, poor Pepper has spent a majority of his life living there where he had to share the smallest of spaces for shelter and fight for his food and water, along with the dread of the shelter workers coming to start their shift every day.

Upon taking Pepper off the transport van, he was terrified and exhausted from the long trip to the UK. However, in all of his fear, and not knowing where he was or what might be about to happen to him, Pepper stayed completely none aggressive throughout. He is such a kind and gentle soul even with all of the abuse and neglect he has endured at the hands of humans.

Pepper is still extrmely fearful of everyone and his new surroundings, but we have high hopes for this boy. Lots of time, patience and kindess is all that he needs and hopefully we will soon start to see him relax and not be quite so scared of us anymore.

With other dogs:

So far, Pepper has shown to be good with other dogs. He is still very fearful and so not yet playing with them but he's definately acknowledging them and having lots of sniffs.

We have seen him on a few occassions watching the more confident dogs interact with us which is going to be doing him the world of good at starting to learn that he is now safe.

Energy levels

Pepper is still way too scared for us to be able to assess his true energy levels

Pepper has never lived in a home before therefore any time alone would need to be built up. Once he's comfortable in the home, he will be able to be left for around 4 hours

Lead trained

Pepper is a very long way off from being taught how to walk on a collar and lead. Lots of trust is going to have to be built with the adopters first and he will need to grow much more confidence in general
