Introducing...Mabel!

About Mabel:

Mabel has not had a happy life so far. She is just 5 years old and has spent a majority of her life living in and enduring the horrors of a public kill shelter in Romania.

Mabel is understandably very scared of people after the mistreatment and neglect she has seen and suffered herself.

She does gain confidence being around other dogs as this have been her constant in life and have been the ones that have always shown her kindness.

She will take treats from us now but she is still a way off from asking for strokes.

With other dogs:

Mabel has mixed well with many dogs at the rescue. She has recently started to show a really playful side to her when we have been mixing her with the younger and / or more playful dogs. It is just the best thing to see when she lets her guard down and really enjoys herself.

Mabel needs a home with at least one other resident dog already living there. Sadly, she is completely shut down when she's not around other dogs.

It would benefit Mabel the most to live with a friendly, confident and playful dog that could show her the ropes of home life. She is low energy though so she'd need a dog that would not pester her and let her take everything in at her own pace.

With cats: Mabel has been successfully cat tested, we believe that she would be absolutely fine to live with a cat.
