Introducing.. Betty!
About Betty:
Beautiful Betty has truly had a horrific life so far, we can only imagine the horrors she has seen and had to endure.
She is still just a young dog at 4 years old and is sadly one of the most frightened that we currently have in our care.
She has spent a majority of her life living in a public kill shelter in Romania. They are not treated kindly there and she has learnt that nothing good comes from humans which has resulted in her complete fear of them.
We are hopeful that in time, Betty will realise she no longer has to fear us and that from now on, only good things will come from the presence of people. This will take a lot of time and a lot of patience but the reward of her love and loyalty once she realises that she is safe, will be worth every second.

With other dogs:
Betty has mixed well with most dogs that we have introduced her to at the rescue. Dogs are all she has ever known and she takes much comfort in their presence. We are looking for a calm, confident, male dog of similar size for Betty to live with. She wouldn't cope in a home without at least one other dog living there.
She may take a little time to warm up to a new dog as she will be wary if they're going to hurt her or not but she has shown that she forms strong bonds with those that she trusts and she look to them for guidance.
With cats:
Betty is not able to live with cats.
Moderate energy
Betty shows to have moderate energy levels at the rescue however, as her confidence grown in a home, this could increase
4-5 hrs
Betty has never before lived in a home. We'd ask that any time alone is slowly built up over a period of time until she feels safe and comfortable being in the home
Requires further lead training
Betty has no form of lead / harness training. She has only ever been moved by a grasper pole and rough handlers. This is going to require a whole lot of time and patience
Training required
Betty has no form of basic training. She is extremely scared and will need to start to learn to trust her family before training begins
