3 years, Male, Small Mixed Breed (Cocker spaniel size)
Freddie is a very timid and shy dog that needs a very patient home to take them on. When Freddie arrived they were traumatized by the transport and hid away from us in fear.
Freddie is a dog that will require time and patience to come out of their shell and learn to ‘be a dog’. They are a project but the rewards from adopting a dog like Freddie outweigh the struggles they may have at the beginning.
Freddie is starting to show us a little bit more of his character and does get giddy with some staff members, he will run over with his tail wagging and boop their hands and run off again, Freddie has never loved a human before and at the moment is too shy for further contact. When taking on a dog like Freddie you become their whole world, they finally learn to trust humans and learn that not all humans are scary.
Freddie cannot currently be touched at the rescue - although he will come over for a boop this is what he's comfortable with right now and so has never known a kind hand stroking him. The day that you can touch Freddie will be an incredibly special moment for you both…
Freddie is not currently lead trained as they are so frightened. Staff will advise you on how to teach them to walk on a lead when they are ready.
